Signed Taylor Swift CD and Vinyl Value: Most Sell for $125–300
A signed Taylor Swift CD or vinyl sells for about $125 to $300. The signed CDs and inserts sold through her online store go for the low end of that range; the same item authenticated and sealed in a case by a grading company sells for the high end. That's a lot less than most people expect for the biggest star in the world, and the reason is simple: she has signed an enormous number of them. The items that sell for thousands are the ones she didn't sign at a table by the hundred: early items from before her fame, handwritten lyrics, and anything signed in person.
Why signed Swift items are cheap for her fame
For most album releases since Folklore, Swift's store has sold signed CDs, signed photo inserts and signed vinyl in large batches, often restocked several times. One authentication company has over 25,000 Swift signatures in its database, and she has been its most-authenticated signature for a couple of years running. There are simply a lot of them out there, with more arriving at each release.
So the price is set by supply. Store-signed items from recent albums typically sell on eBay for $125 to $200, with dozens changing hands every day. Authenticated and slabbed, they sell for $250 to $300. One dealer bought hundreds of signed Folklore CDs at $50 each at release, had them authenticated, and resold them at $300.
That also tells you something useful: the retail price at release is far below the resale price. If you bought a signed CD from her store, you've already done well.
What sells for more
- Items signed before she was famous. Signed early promo photos, pre-2009 items and anything from her Nashville years are scarce and sell for far more. Only a handful of pre-2009 tickets have ever been graded.
- In-person autographs with proof. Something signed at a meet-and-greet or event, with a photo of the moment, is worth several times a store-signed item. In-person signatures are nearly impossible to get now, which is why dealers say the store-signed supply is "cheap relative to her popularity."
- Handwritten lyrics. A handwritten lyric sheet for "Tim McGraw," signed by Swift and her co-writer, sold at auction for $87,840. These are one-of-a-kind items and the auction houses are where they sell.
- Signed guitars, tour items and personal pieces with documented provenance. Prices run into the thousands and depend entirely on the story behind the item.
- Rare pressings signed. A signed copy of a limited vinyl variant is worth more than a signed standard pressing, because the record itself carries value. Our guide to vinyl records worth money covers what makes a pressing valuable.
Spotting fakes
Because the signature is common and the fan base is huge, fakes are everywhere. The usual checks:
- Compare against her store-signed examples. Her signature has changed over the years, so compare with signatures from the same era.
- Look at the ink. Store signatures are usually in a consistent marker on the insert or cover, not on the shrink-wrap.
- Be suspicious of "signed in person" with no photo. Genuine in-person signatures almost always come with a photo or a story that checks out.
- Check the seller's history and whether the item comes with a certificate from a recognised authenticator (PSA/DNA, JSA, Beckett). A certificate from an unknown company means nothing.
- Price. A signed Swift vinyl for $40 is a fake or a misprint of the listing.
If you're selling, having a known authenticator certify and slab the item usually raises the price by more than the fee.
How to check what you have
- Identify the item: album, format, whether it's a store-signed insert or signed on the cover itself.
- Search the exact item plus "signed" on eBay and filter to Sold items. Look at where most sales land, not the top result.
- If it's from before 2010, signed in person, or handwritten, look at auction-house results rather than eBay.

Common questions
How much is a signed Taylor Swift CD worth?
About $125 to $200 for a store-signed CD or insert, and $250 to $300 once authenticated and slabbed. Early or in-person signatures sell for much more.
Are the signed CDs from Taylor Swift's store real?
Yes, those are hand-signed. They're also the main reason her signature is relatively affordable: a large number are sold with each album release.
How do I know if a Taylor Swift autograph is real?
Compare it with store-signed examples from the same era, check for a certificate from a recognised authenticator, and be wary of any "in person" claim without a photo. Getting it authenticated yourself is the only certain way.
Will signed Taylor Swift items go up in value?
Early and in-person items probably will, because the supply is fixed. Store-signed items from recent albums are unlikely to rise much while new signed releases keep coming.
